Mayabunder, April 20: All Fire Stations across North & Middle Andaman District observed Fire Service Week from 14.04.26 to 20.04.26, under the theme “Safe School, Safe Hospital & Fire Safety Aware Society – Together for Fire Prevention.”
During the week, a series of fire safety awareness programmes, mock drills, and live demonstrations of firefighting equipment were conducted. Special outreach initiatives were organized in schools and healthcare institutions, alongside community interaction programmes to spread awareness on fire prevention and emergency response.
Emphasis was laid on preparedness, prevention, and swift response to fire incidents. Fire personnel also carried out inspections and educated the public on essential safety measures.
The programmes witnessed active participation from residents, students, and officials, significantly enhancing public awareness and strengthening community resilience against fire hazards across the region.
