Little Andaman, April 22: The AYUSH Wing of the Directorate of Health Services, A&N Administration, in collaboration with PHC Hutbay and Tribal Welfare Department organized an Awareness and Counselling Session along with an in-situ AYUSH Health Camp for the Onge Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) at Little Andaman on 18th and 19th April, 2026.
On 18.04.2026, an awareness and counselling session was conducted for 13 Onge students of Class XII at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Ramkrishnapur. The session aimed to promote awareness on health, hygiene, and the importance of education, while also providing guidance and support to the students.
Dr. Vaishali, Medical Officer (Ayurveda), delivered a comprehensive health talk emphasizing the importance of balanced diet, regular physical activity, stress management, and personal hygiene in daily life. As part of the programme, Prakriti Parikshan and general health examinations were conducted for all students to assess their individual constitution and overall health status.
Subsequently, on 19.04.2026, an in-situ AYUSH Health Camp and Awareness Programme were conducted at Dugong Creek, benefiting a total of 56 Onge community members, including students and their family members. The camp focused on preventive healthcare and holistic wellness through various activities.
