Sri Vijaya Puram, April 22: Shri S. U. Maheswar Rao, Chairman, Andaman and Nicobar Fisheries Cooperative Federation Ltd., (ANIFCOFED) along with the Board of Directors, expresses heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, GoI for granting the temporary extension of the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana beyond 31st March 2026.
This timely administrative approval by the Government of India to extend the scheme till 30th September 2026, pending appraisal and continuation under the 16th Finance Commission cycle, reflects the Government’s continued commitment to the sustainable and responsible development of the fisheries sector and the vision of the Blue Revolution in India.
The fishermen community, stakeholders, and Fisheries Cooperative Societies of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands deeply appreciate this decision, which will ensure continuity of ongoing activities and support livelihoods across the sector.
