
Sri Vijaya Puram, April 24: The Directorate of Industries, A&N Administration in collaboration with the Registrar of Companies, Chennai successfully organized a one-day workshop on “Sensitization on Companies Act and Company Affairs” today at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Industries. The event, conceived under the guidance of Smti. Pallavi Sarkar, IAS, Secretary (Industries), aimed to demystify corporate laws, promote business formalization, and accelerate Ease of Doing Business in the islands, in alignment with Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India vision.
The workshop drew a diverse audience of around 70 participants including students from Higher Education Institutes, representatives from Industry Associations, Startups, and Entrepreneurs of the Islands.
Shri Aeshala Vamshi Krishna, Deputy Registrar of Companies, was the chief Resource Person, delivering sessions on company formation (Pvt. Ltd., LLP, OPC), statutory compliances (AOC-4, MGT-7), governance, funding avenues, and more, aimed at startups, MSMEs, entrepreneurs, and aspiring youth to boost Ease of Doing Business and align with Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Shri Atul Soni, Director of Industries, A&N Administration speaking on the occasion stressed upon the importance of gaining knowledge and awareness on incorporation as Private Limited Companies, OPCs, or LLPs. Smti Sunitha Kumari, Deputy Director welcomed the gathering and set the context of the Workshop while Shri. Ajit Anand, Deputy Director proposed the vote of thanks.
Further, successful startups including founder Shri Nitesh Deshmukh of Cubelelo App and Shri Pavan Yasa, founder of Praja App shared their success stories with the participants and inspired to avail the opportunity of understanding the Company Act which would be helpful in the successful running of their Startups.
The workshop was followed by an Interactive session including an open-house Q&A, equipping attendees with actionable knowledge on company structures, Startup India privileges, and regulatory pitfalls.
The participants gained early insights into entrepreneurship, while startups and entrepreneurs were empowered to formalize operations, enhance compliance and scale sustainably—directly boosting the local economy and job creation. The Directorate of Industries, A&N Administration reaffirms its commitment to such capacity-building initiatives for sustainable industrial growth in the UT.
