PS Hut Bay Achieves a Major Breakthrough Against Illegal Cannabis Cultivation in Little Andaman

Little Andaman, May 4: The team of Police Station Hut Bay has once again demonstrated its commitment and efficiency in the ongoing fight against Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, resulting in the recovery of 15 illicit cannabis plants weighing a total of 120 grams and the apprehension of one individual.

On 01/05/26, acting on credible information received by Inspr. Pritam Behari, SHO PS Hut Bay regarding illegal cultivation of cannabis/ganja plants at the residence of Bidhan Sana R/o R.K Pur, Katai, Ward No. 11, Little Andaman.

Upon information, a police team was swiftly constituted, comprising of Inspr. Pritam Behari, SHO PS Hut Bay, ASI Victor Dung Dung, M. Vinod Kumar, D.N. Mishra, HCs M. Sudarsana Rao, Sarbajit Roy, Manoj Kumar Ekka, PCs Mohammed Ayub, T. Naveen, Ct Narayan Mondal and HG(V)/205 Mousumi Halder. Further, two independent witnesses and PRI Member, GP R.K Pur have joined the team.

The team immediately moved to the spot and conducted search. During search in the premises of Bidhan Sana residence, 15 illicit cannabis plants were recovered. All plants were measured and weighed with a total weight of 120 grams. All plants were seized and accused Bidhan Sana S/o Late Thakur Das Sana (72 yrs) was arrested after observing all codal formalities.

The entire operation was conducted under the leadership of Inspector. Pritam Behari, SHO PS Hutbay under the command of Shri. Ankesh Yadav, DANIPS, SDPO Swaraj Dweep and overall supervision of Smti Niyati Mittal, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.

The general public is requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to Police at 112, 03192-232100 & 03192-236641. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
