36 Hours, One Tiny Clue: Humfrygunj Police Cracks Blind Hit-And-Run Case

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 14: In a remarkable display of relentless investigation, sharp technical analysis and coordinated field work, the team of Police Station Humfrygunj successfully cracked a blind hit-and-run case within 36 hours of the incident, leading to the identification and apprehension of the offending driver and seizure of the involved vehicle.

On 11/05/2026, an information was receipt from PHC Garacharma regarding a road accident at Sippighat near Kalapathar area. Upon this, an FIR was registered and a police team comprising SI Gaurav Banerjee, SHO PS Humfrygunj, SI Ajitabh Kr. Das, ASI Amal Kr. Das, HC Arul, HG(R) K. Balakrishna, HGV Benher, A. Christopher & Jerome was immediately constituted to trace the offender.

The police team began an extensive search of accused through sustained efforts, coordinated teamwork, effective use of technical resources, LBS analysis and coordination with the Transport Department Control Room. On the basis of analysis, suspected vehicle and its driver was successfully traced. The police team immediately rushed to the location, recovered the offending vehicle and identified the driver as Raj Kishan S/o Late Prem Kishan, 24 yrs, a private driver and resident of Pathargudda. He was apprehended and the vehicle was seized after observing all codal formalities. 

The case was solved under the guidance of SI Gaurav Banerjee, SHO PS Humfrygunj under the leadership of Shri Sunil, DANIPS, SDPO Bambooflat and overall supervision of Smti Shweta K Sugathan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
