Sri Vijaya Puram, May 18: The Andaman & Nicobar Police successfully inaugurated “Udaan Summer Camp 2026” on 18th May 2026 at the Drill Hall, APU Police Line, Sri Vijaya Puram. The camp is being organized with the objective of promoting sports, physical fitness, creativity, skill development, career guidance and overall personality development among children and youths of the Islands.
Smti. Niyati Mittal Kashyap, DANIPS, Superintendent of Police (APU), Police Line graced the occasion and formally inaugurated the summer camp in the presence of students, parents, coaches and officials of A&N Police. Around 220 students along with their parents participated enthusiastically in the inaugural programme, reflecting the overwhelming response towards the initiative.
During the programme, participants and parents were briefed about the camp schedule, safety measures and various training activities planned under the camp. The summer camp includes Athletics, Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Chess, Yoga & Meditation, Boxing, Music, Dance, Painting, Sketching and other personality development, skill development and career guidance activities aimed at nurturing talent and encouraging healthy lifestyles among youths.
Addressing the gathering, SP (APU) emphasized the importance of sports, discipline, creativity and skill development in shaping the future of young minds. She encouraged the students to actively participate in the camp activities and make productive use of the opportunity provided by A&N Police. She also appreciated the support extended by parents, coaches and organizers in making the initiative a success.
The “Udaan Summer Camp 2026” will continue till 17th June 2026 at various venues including Police Line, Netaji Stadium and Marine Dockyard. The initiative reflects the commitment of A&N Police towards community engagement, youth empowerment and promotion of healthy lifestyles among the youth of the Islands.
