Sri Vijaya Puram, May 29: As part of the ongoing “Chalchitra Andaman Nicobar Film Festival – 2026”, a Short Filmmaking Workshop on the art and craft of cinema was conducted today at the Anthropological Auditorium, Sri Vijaya Puram. The workshop was led by two renowned filmmakers from Mumbai, who captivated the audience with their experiences and expertise in the world of cinema. The interactive session provided aspiring filmmakers, students and cinema enthusiasts a valuable opportunity to understand the finer nuances of filmmaking, storytelling and film production from industry professionals.
Acclaimed Filmmaker and Script Writer, Ms. Shivangi Singh spoke extensively on the importance of script writing and storytelling in cinema. Emphasizing that a strong screenplay forms the backbone of a successful film, she explained the process of developing characters, structuring narratives and creating emotionally engaging stories. She also encouraged young writers to closely observe society and draw inspiration from real-life experiences.
Noted Film Director, Shri Rahul Kale delivered an insightful session on various aspects of film production, direction and film marketing. He elaborated on the challenges involved in transforming a script into a compelling visual experience and stressed the importance of teamwork, creativity and technical excellence in filmmaking. He also shared valuable insights on film promotion, audience engagement and the evolving trends in digital platforms and cinema marketing.
The speakers further highlighted the growing opportunities in the film industry, independent cinema and the increasing role of technology in modern filmmaking. The session proved highly inspiring and informative, offering participants a deeper understanding of the cinematic process and motivating young talents to pursue their passion for filmmaking.
Meanwhile, another session of the Short Filmmaking Workshop will be conducted tomorrow (May 30) from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm at the Anthropological Auditorium. Participation in the workshop is free of cost.
