Sri Vijaya Puram, May 31: As part of the ongoing TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan- 100 days Campaign an initiative for promoting preventive healthcare among the working population, the District TB Centre, South Andaman conducted an Ayushman Arogya Shivir at the Directorate of Lighthouses and Lightships “Deep Bhavan”, Phoenix Bay. Dr. Shiv Shankar Singh, General Medicine Specialist, and Diabetologist, attended the programme as the Resource Person and delivered an informative session on the importance of early diagnosis, healthy lifestyle practices, prevention of communicable disease highlighting TB and non-communicable diseases and regular health check-ups.
During the health camp, NCD screening and X-ray screening were also conducted for the employees of the Directorate to facilitate early detection and timely management of various health conditions, including Tuberculosis and lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.
The programme witnessed active participation from the employees, who availed the screening services and interacted with the medical team regarding health-related concerns. The initiative aimed to strengthen awareness on TB elimination, promote wellness, and encourage health-seeking behaviour among the workforce.
