Eid Milan at Islamic Guidance Centre Celebrates Spirit of Unity, Peace and Brotherhood

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 31: In a heartwarming celebration of communal harmony and togetherness, an Eid Milan Program was organized at the Islamic Guidance Centre (IGC), Goalghar on the evening of 29th May 2025 at 6:15 PM on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. The gathering witnessed the participation of religious leaders, social activists, public representatives, politicians, and members of civil society, reflecting the unique spirit of unity and coexistence that defines the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The program began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Janab P. Abdul Sajid, President of SIO Andaman Zone, setting a spiritual and peaceful tone for the evening. Janab P.K. Ummer Farooq welcomed the gathering and highlighted the universal values of Eid al-Adha- sacrifice, compassion, faith, and service to humanity.

Presiding over the function, Janab M.K. Mohammed, Chief Patron of Islamic Guidance Centre, emphasized the importance of preserving peace, brotherhood, and mutual respect in society. He stated that festivals such as Eid are not merely celebrations, but occasions that remind humanity about unity, sacrifice, and standing together in times of challenges and divisions.

Special Guest Swami Omkaratmanand Ji of Ramakrishna Mission, while addressing the audience, spoke about the common teachings shared by all religions and stressed that peace, love, and selfless service are the true foundations of humanity. He appreciated the efforts of Islamic Guidance Centre in creating platforms that strengthen communal harmony and social unity.

Father Anugrah of the Catholic Church also conveyed his greetings on the occasion and shared his thoughts on sacrifice, kindness, and peaceful coexistence. He remarked that gatherings like Eid Milan help bridge hearts and promote understanding among communities. Shri P. Ummer, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad South Andaman was present as special guest during this occasion.

Delivering the Eid Message, Janab K.P. Mohammed Younus reflected upon the life and sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), reminding the gathering that Eid al-Adha teaches mankind the values of devotion, sincerity, patience, sacrifice, and concern for fellow human beings.

Several eminent personalities, political leaders, and members of civil society also shared their views during the occasion. The speakers collectively emphasized the need for peace, unity, compassion, and brotherhood in today’s world, while encouraging society to rise above divisions and work together for humanity.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Janab N. Abdul Salam, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, guests, organizers, and participants for making the program meaningful and successful.

The evening concluded with dinner and friendly interaction among the participants, symbolizing the true essence of Eid-togetherness, harmony, and shared humanity.
