Awareness Programme on POSH Act and Services of One Stop Centre Conducted at the Conference Hall of ZPSA

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 8: WITH YOU NGO, in association with the One Stop Centre under the Directorate of Social Welfare, organized an awareness programme on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act and the various services provided by the One Stop Centre on 06.06.2026 at the Conference Hall of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman.

The programme was conducted primarily for the employees working under the Zilla Parishad with the objective of creating awareness about workplace safety, prevention of sexual harassment, and the support services available for women in distress.

The awareness session was conducted by Smti. Meenal Rajan, Case Worker, One Stop Centre, who provided detailed information on the provisions of the POSH Act, the rights and responsibilities of employees and employers, the role of Internal Committees, and the procedure for addressing complaints of workplace harassment. She also highlighted the various services offered by the One Stop Centre, including counseling, legal aid, medical assistance, temporary shelter, and police facilitation for women facing violence or abuse.

Speaking on the occasion, Smti. Mariyam Bibi, President of WITH YOU NGO, expressed her sincere gratitude to the Directorate of Social Welfare, the One Stop Centre, and the Zilla Parishad authorities for their support and cooperation in organizing the programme. She emphasized the importance of creating awareness about the POSH Act to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment for all employees.

Around 30 employees of Zilla Parishad participated in the programme and actively interacted with the resource person, seeking clarification on various aspects of the Act and the services available through the One Stop Centre.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Smti Ruchi Ahuja joint secretary WITH YOU, reaffirming the collective commitment towards promoting workplace dignity, gender equality, and the safety of women.
