Sri Vijaya Puram, June 16: The Directorate of Arts & Culture, A&N Administration, in its endeavor to nurture theatre among the youth and general public of these Islands, will be organizing a month-long theatre workshop, in collaboration with the National School of Drama, New Delhi, from June 25, 2026 onwards. On completion of the workshop, a play involving the participants will be presented by NSD.
Applications are invited from islanders who aspire to explore theatre, plays, and drama. Participation in the workshop is limited to 30 persons only and selection will be done by the selection committee comprised of officials from NSD, New Delhi and Arts & Culture Department, A&N Administration. Applicants must be above 18 years of age and should be committed to attend the workshop to ensure the highest standards of learning and practice.
The workshop will provide participants with intensive training in acting, stagecraft, voice modulation, movement, and dramatic interpretation under the guidance of distinguished faculty from the National School of Drama. It is envisioned as a transformative experience that will not only hone artistic skills but also foster confidence, teamwork, and cultural awareness among the participants.
