The Tribal Council, Nancowry, on behalf of the entire tribal community of the Nancowry Group of Islands, pays its heartfelt tribute to Late Mrs. Sabira Anwar, beloved wife of Dr. Anwar Moosa, loving mother of Mr. Afzal Ali and Mr. Mohammed Ali, beloved daughter of Rani Fatima, Rani of Nancowry, younger sister of Mrs. Aysha Majid, and elder sister of Prince Rashid, who passed away in Chennai on 14 June 2026. She was laid to rest at Chennai on 15 June 2026.
With profound grief and sorrow, the people of the Nancowry Group of Islands mourn the passing of a remarkable woman whose life was defined by love, humility, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
Late Mrs. Sabira Anwar was widely respected for her gentle nature, kind heart, and dignified presence. She embodied the values of service, respect, and togetherness that are deeply cherished within the Nicobarese community. Through her warmth, generosity, and caring spirit, she touched the lives of countless people and earned the affection and admiration of all who knew her.
The void created by her absence will be deeply felt by relatives, friends, and the wider community. However, the memories she leaves behind and the values she upheld will continue to inspire and guide future generations.
At this moment of profound sorrow, the Tribal Council, Nancowry, and the people of the Nancowry Group of Islands stand united in extending their heartfelt condolences to Dr. Anwar Moosa, Mr. Afzal Ali, Mr. Mohammed Ali, Rani Fatima, Mrs. Aysha Majid, Prince Rashid, and all members of the bereaved family.
