Sri Vijaya Puram, July 12: In commemoration of the 150 years of the Rashtra Geet ‘Vande Mataram’ and on the occasion of Mahakavi Kalidasa Jayanti, the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, will be organizing the ‘Mahakavi Kalidasa National Theatre Festival 2026’. Held under the inspiring theme “Bharat Speaks Through Theatre | युवा रंगमंच से राष्ट्र जागरण” (Youth Theatre for National Awakening), this event is being conducted in collaboration with the Department of Education, Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
As part of these celebrations, students from two different schools will present two 20-minute theatrical performances on July 15, 2026, at 6 PM at two different venues in the Islands. The schedule for these performances is as follows:

Performing School: Govt. Secondary School, Junglighat, Sri Vijaya Puram
Venue: Govt. Model Senior Secondary School Auditorium, Sri Vijaya Puram
All have been invited to attend and witness these performances, and to experience the stories of our nation retold by the talented young students of the Islands. All are welcome to join this celebration of heritage and patriotism.
