Sri Vijaya Puram, July 16: Cementing its commitment to providing cutting-edge mobility solutions to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, GenNext Motors successfully hosted a spectacular launch event for the Next-Gen Tata Tiago and Tiago.ev. The blockbuster unveiling took place on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the elegant Shadipur Showroom, drawing an overwhelming response from local auto enthusiasts, families, and dignitaries.
The event showcased a decisive leap in the hatchback segment. The Next Gen Tiago, featuring spectacular new colors like Varanasi Vibrance and Dehradun Dew, captured the crowd’s imagination with its segment-first 360° Surround View, Blind View Monitor, and luxurious interior upgrades.
Spearheading the monumental event, Mr. Sagar Khurana, Director of GenNext Motors and a deeply familiar face across the islands, addressed the enthusiastic attendees.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sagar Khurana, Managing Director of GenNext Motors Motors said that Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has witnessed strong growth across India. He pointed out that Tata Motors has recently reorganized its business by separating its Passenger Vehicle and Commercial Vehicle divisions into independent listed companies. Under the new structure, Tata Passenger Vehicles will operate independently along with the Jaguar, Land Rover business, while Tata Commercial Vehicles will function as a separate entity.
Referring to the company’s long-term vision, he said Tata Motors Chairman Mr. N. Chandrasekaran had recently announced that the company aims to double its passenger vehicle sales by 2031. According to the plan, Tata Motors intends to increase monthly sales from the present level of around 50,000–60,000 vehicles to nearly 1.2 lakh vehicles per month, while targeting a market share of approximately 20 percent. To achieve this objective, Tata Motors plans to introduce six new products and more than twenty major product updates over the next five to six years.
Speaking about the dealership’s expansion plans in the Islands, Mr. Sagar said the company is making substantial investments to strengthen its presence across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. While the existing showroom at Shadipur continues to serve customers, a new showroom conforming to Tata Motors’ latest corporate standards is being planned at Jodakilan to cater to customers from Chouldari, Wandoor and adjoining areas.
He further stated that the dealership already operates a showroom and a service centre at Diglipur, where customers receive basic servicing and after-sales support. In addition, operations at Rangat are expected to commence after the monsoon season. He added that the company intends to gradually expand its footprint to other parts of the Islands as business opportunities grow.
Mr. Sagar emphasized that Tata Motors remains the only automobile manufacturer in India offering products across petrol, diesel and electric vehicle segments. He noted that Tata has emerged as the pioneer and market leader in the electric vehicle segment, commanding nearly 40 percent market share in India.
He explained that customers now have multiple powertrain options across various Tata models. Speaking about the newly launched Tiago, Mr. Sagar said the hatchback offers several premium features that are normally available only in higher-end vehicles. Among the highlights is a 360-degree camera, a feature rarely seen in cars of this segment. He remarked that despite being a compact hatchback, the Tiago offers a spacious cabin, advanced technology, premium interiors and features that surpass many competing models in the same category.
Mr. Sagar also acknowledged that with the increasing number of vehicle launches and rapid technological advancements, expanding workshop facilities and maintaining high service standards remain major challenges. However, he assured customers that the dealership is fully committed to strengthening its infrastructure and enhancing after-sales service.
He informed that the dealership has been associated with Tata Passenger Vehicles since 2017 and is now approaching a decade of partnership.
Concluding his address, Mr. Sagar said that while launching new vehicles remains important, the dealership’s foremost priority is customer satisfaction through reliable after-sales service. He assured customers that the company will continue to focus on delivering quality service even after vehicle delivery and thanked everyone for attending the launch ceremony, expressing hope that the new Tata Tiago would receive an enthusiastic response from customers across the Islands.
The launch highlighted the remarkable affordability of the new models. The ICE variants start at just ₹ 4.69 lakh, offering a refined Petrol and India’s first CNG AMT with Twin-Cylinder technology. Meanwhile, the Tiago.ev fundamentally changes the financial logic of car ownership, available from ₹ 6.99 lakh (full ownership) or an innovative BaaS pricing model of ₹ 4.69 lakh with a minimal Battery EMI of ₹ 2.6 / km. Equipped with a Lifetime HV Battery Warranty and 18-minute fast charging capabilities, it stands as a brilliant asset for local island commutes.
Under the operational excellence of Group General Manager Mr. Soumitra Basu Chowdhury, the GenNext Motors team executed a flawless event, seamlessly guiding customers through the vehicle’s features and booking procedures. “We have instituted a structured ‘Zero Complaint’ customer journey for our new buyers,” noted Mr. Chowdhury. “While we have received a tremendous number of bookings today, our dealership is fully equipped to handle smooth deliveries and exceptional ongoing service.”
The all-new Tata Tiago and Tiago.ev are now on display and available for test drives at the GenNext Motors Shadipur, Jodakalin, and Diglipur showrooms.
