Car Nicobar, July 20: Nicobar District Police successfully organized a two-day Beach Volleyball Tournament for both men and women on 18–19 July 2026 at Lapathy Beach, Car Nicobar, in memory of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the “Unity Man”.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from various departments including the Indian Air Force (IAF), Education Department, and Andaman & Nicobar Police, along with several village teams from across the region. The event aimed at promoting sportsmanship, unity, and community engagement among different sections of society.
In the men’s category, Tamaloo Village team emerged as the winner, while the Andaman & Nicobar Police team secured the runner-up position. In the women’s category, Arong Village team clinched the winner’s title, with the Andaman & Nicobar Police team finishing as runner-up.
All finalist teams were awarded cash prizes in recognition of their outstanding performance. Participation certificates were also distributed to all teams as a token of appreciation for their involvement and sportsmanship.
The event concluded on a high note, fostering a spirit of camaraderie, teamwork, and unity among participants and spectators alike. Nicobar District Police remains committed to organizing such community-oriented initiatives to strengthen public relations and encourage youth participation in constructive activities.
