Sri Vijaya Puram, July 20: Having earned the honour of being crowned State Champions through their exceptional skill, determination and team spirit, the Under- 17 Girls Football Team Govt. Girls SSS has emerged as a proud symbol of sporting excellence for the A&N Islands. In recognition of their remarkable achievement and with a view to preparing them for National Stage a 45-days State Level Residential Coaching Camp for the Under-17 Girls Football Team is underway at Netaji Stadium in preparation to participate in the 65th Subroto Mukherjee Cup International Football Tournament, scheduled to be held from 18th to 27th August, 2026 at New Delhi.
During the morning coaching session held on July 18, Ms. Purva Garg, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, visited the coaching camp and interacted with the players. In her inspiring address, she urged the young footballers to pursue excellence with discipline, perseverance and unwavering self-belief. She also conveyed her best wishes for the team’s outstanding performance in the forthcoming 65th Subroto Mukherjee Cup International Football Tournament.
The coaching camp is progressing under the guidance of dedicated and experience coaching staff with emphasis on technical skills, physical conditioning and match preparedness.
