Department of Art & Culture Organises Patriotic Cultural Programme to Commemorate Kargil Vijaya Diwas

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 26: A patriotic cultural programme to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas was organized by the Department of Art & Culture at Flag Point here this evening. The evening of remembrance and reverence featured stirring patriotic and nationalist songs, along with heartfelt poetic presentations by poets from the Islands. The programme paid tribute to the valour and supreme sacrifice of the brave soldiers who safeguarded the nation during the Kargil War.

Patriotic songs were presented by artists from the Unity Orchestra and Geet Sangeet Musical Group. Island poets, Shri Ayush Kumar Dubey and Ms. Neeta Chandra, recited their self-composed poems. College students including Ms. Anjali Munda and Ms. Hashira Hanif from TGCE, Ms. Amrita Biswas and Ms. J. Natasha from Andaman Law College, and Shri Kunal Bain, Ms. S. Divya and Ms. Simran Munda from JNRM also recited their self-composed poems dedicated to the nation. Shri Ganesh Mishra, a student of Model School, mesmerized the gathering with a patriotic song.

The event rekindled the spirit of unity, courage and devotion to the motherland, inspiring patriotic fervour among those present. A large number of citizens attended the programme at Flag Point and joined in honouring the nation’s heroes with pride and gratitude.
