Sri Vijaya Puram, July 26: The Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, in collaboration with the Directorate of Education and the Directorate of Tourism, organized the 2nd Edition of the Monsoon Beach Volleyball Tournament at Corbyn’s Cove Beach in Open Men and Open Women categories. The tournament promoted beach volleyball, encouraged sportsmanship, and provided an exciting platform for volleyball enthusiasts to showcase their talent.
Altogether, 39 teams participated in the tournament, which was open to all. A large number of locals, tourists, students and families gathered to cheer the teams and became part of the much-awaited weekend celebration. Excellent serves, good rallies and powerful smashes by the teams of the beach volleyball final match received accolades & cheers from onlookers.
In the finals of the Beach Volleyball for men, the team of KN Brothers remained champions while in the women’s final, New Pahargaon remained champions. The Assistant Director, Sports, Dept. of S&YA Shri V. Ranjith Kumar gave away the trophies to the winners.
