IP&T in Collaboration with Deptt. of Envt. & Forests to Organise ‘Rainforest Birding Trail’ at Biological Park

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 28: As part of the Tourism Fairs/Festivals/Events Calendar 2026–27 launched by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, A&N Islands, the Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, in collaboration with the Department of Environment & Forests and the Avian Club, will be organizing a ‘Rainforest Birding Trail’ at Biological Park, Chidiyatapu on Aug. 1 from 8 AM onwards.

The event aims to promote eco-tourism and create awareness about the rich avian diversity and pristine rainforest ecosystem of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Participants will have the opportunity to explore one of the Islands’ most picturesque birding destinations under the guidance of experienced resource persons and birding experts, while learning about the region’s endemic and migratory bird species and the importance of biodiversity conservation. The Directorate has invited nature enthusiasts, bird watchers, students, photographers, travel agents, eco-tourism stakeholders and members of the general public to participate in this unique nature trail and experience the Islands’ remarkable natural heritage.

Participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to the availability of seats. The Directorate has invited all nature lovers to be a part of this enriching experience and contribute towards promoting responsible and sustainable tourism in the A&N Islands.
