Mayabunder, Aug. 12: The new office building of Adarsh Block Level Federation (BLF), Mayabunder was inaugurated yesterday near Netaji Sports Stadium, Mayabunder, North & Middle Andaman, marking an important milestone towards strengthening the institutional platform of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and their Village Organizations in Mayabunder Block.
The programme was graced by Shri S. Krishna Chaitanya, Additional District Magistrate (ADM), North & Middle Andaman, as the chief guest, while Smt. Shibani Mazumder, Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti Mayabunder, attended as the guest of honour in the presence of Shri Pradeep Kumar Singh, Block Development Officer (BDO), Mayabunder, members of Adarsh BLF, Community Resource Persons (CRPs), SHG representatives and other stakeholders.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries appreciated the efforts of Adarsh BLF and its members in promoting women-led community institutions and supporting livelihood and self-employment activities under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM).
The new office will provide a dedicated institutional space for Adarsh BLF to conduct its meetings, maintain records, coordinate with SHGs and Village Organizations (VOs), facilitate capacity building and training activities, and provide handholding support to SHG members and community institutions.
The establishment of the new office is expected to further strengthen the three-tier CBO structure of DAY-NRLM at the grassroots level and enhance coordination among SHGs, VOs, BLF, line departments and other stakeholders.
Meanwhile, as part of the programme, the attendees also participated in a Tiranga flag-off ceremony to commemorate the spirit of patriotism and national unity. Members of Adarsh BLF, SHG representatives, CRPs and other participants joined the rally with enthusiasm.
