Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 23: A sensitization programme on POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) in hybrid mode for Heads of Institutes and teachers was organized today in the auditorium of Govt. Girls’ Senior Secondary School by the President, Rights for All (RFA), Ms. Rubina Siddiqui in collaboration with Department of Education.
The programme was conducted with the objective of enhancing awareness among Heads of Schools and teachers regarding the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, and to strengthen their understanding of prevention, prohibition and redressal mechanisms related to sexual harassment at the workplace.
The programme was witnessed by 224 participants from South Andaman and Wimberlygunj Zone in offline mode, while around 380 participants joined online from outer zones. The participants actively took part in the interactive sensitization and capacity-building session.
The programme concluded with an emphasis on creating a safe, respectful and harassment-free working environment in educational institutions and ensuring effective awareness and implementation of POSH provisions in schools.
