Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 23: The Science Centre, Sri Vijaya Puram, celebrated National Space Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, teachers and science enthusiasts. The theme of this year celebration is ‘Towards Viksit Bharat: Innovating, Collaborating and Aspiring to Global Space Leadership’. As part of the celebration, a painting competition for primary level and a Quiz competition for middle level were organised for school students.
Accordingly, in the painting competition Alka Tirkey, St. Mary’s School, Mohanpura, S. Gnanashreeka, Kamaraj English Medium School, Brookshabad, Shreya, Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Pathergudda and Aayoseen Bruna, Government Girls Senior Secondary School secured first, second, third & consolation prize while in the quiz competition Hardik Chakravarty, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Lamba Line, Dhruv Kumar B, Kamaraj English Medium School, Brookshabad & Shibli Hassain Gazi, Govt. Model Senior Secondary School were declared as winner, first runner up and second runner up respectively.
Felicitating the winners, Shri Satyaki Paul, Head of Office, Anthropological Survey of India as the chief guest appreciated the efforts of the Science Centre in promoting scientific temper among students and encouraged them to explore new ideas and pursue their interests in science and technology.
Earlier, Shri Debashis Paul, Education Officer, Science Centre welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of National Space Day.
