Diglipur, Aug 24: The North & Middle Andaman District Chess Championship 2026 will be held on August 30, 2026, at the Multipurpose Hall, Diglipur. The championship is open to all chess players from Baratang to Diglipur.
The championship is being organised by the North & Middle Andaman District Chess Association in collaboration with the Deputy Education Office, Diglipur Educational Zone, under the aegis of the Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA).
The tournament will serve as the District Selection Championship for the upcoming Andaman & Nicobar State Chess Championship 2026, scheduled to be held in September at Sri Vijaya Puram. The top four players in the District Championship will be selected to represent North & Middle Andaman District as official entries in the State Championship, and their entry fee, travelling expenses and boarding expenses for participation in the State Championship will be borne by the Andaman Nicobar Chess Association
The entry fee for the championship is ₹100 per player, while participation is free for school students. Interested players may register on or before August 28, 2026, by 5 pm. As the number of entries is limited, registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
