Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 8: Aarogya Setu 2.0, launched by the Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India on 29th June, 2026, is an important Personal Health Record (PHR) application available under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), bringing together a range of digital health services to make healthcare information and services more accessible and convenient for citizens.
Aarogya Setu 2.0 is a digital health application that helps citizens create and manage their ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) and securely access their digital health records. It provides consent-based sharing of health information, allowing users to control who can access their records. The app also uses AI and OCR technology to digitise paper-based medical documents and convert them into structured digital records. Other features include Smart Reports, Scan & Register for healthcare facilities, Scan & Pay, appointment booking, teleconsultation, health and wellness tracking, healthcare facility discovery, PM-JAY information, family health management, blood availability, and AI-based health insights. It works as a citizen-facing platform within the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), making healthcare information and services more accessible, organised, and digitally connected.
Under ABDM, the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA)/Health ID, provides citizens with a unique digital health identity. This enables secure access to personal health records and facilitates their seamless sharing across healthcare facilities, strictly based on patient consent.
The Scan and Share facility available through the Aarogya Setu 2.0 PHR application enables citizens to scan the QR code displayed at participating healthcare facilities and share their ABHA details, with patient consent, for faster OPD registration. This digital registration process helps reduce waiting time, streamline patient flow, and improve queue management at healthcare facilities. Citizens are encouraged to use the Scan and Share facility through the Aarogya Setu 2.0 application to support a faster, more convenient, and efficient OPD registration experience.
