MESSAGE

On the occasion of the 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Nutrition is the foundation of a healthy, capable and prosperous society. The theme of this year’s Poshan Maah, “Hamari Anganwadi, Hamari Jimmedari”, aptly underscores our collective responsibility to strengthen Anganwadi Centres as vibrant centres of nutrition, care, learning and early childhood development.

The month-long campaign focuses on dietary diversity, adequate protein intake, fresh hot-cooked meals, community ownership, early childhood development, and maternal health through PMMVY.

Through Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, concerted efforts are being made to promote dietary diversity, maternal and child health, early childhood development and community participation. In the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Administration, together with frontline workers, local bodies and community partners, remains committed to taking these efforts to every corner of the Islands.

I urge all parents, caregivers, youth and community members to actively participate in Poshan Maah and make nutrition a shared commitment.

Let us make every Anganwadi a centre of care, nutrition and learning, and together build a healthier and better-nourished Andaman and Nicobar Islands for a brighter future.
