Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 25: As part of Day 9 of the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 Campaign, various cleanliness, awareness and community participation activities were organised across the Islands, with more than 680 participants taking part. Activities included awareness on four-way waste segregation at source, Jan Bhagidari cleanliness drives, Swachh Pathshala activities, poster and quiz competitions, Safai Mitra Health check-ups, and campaigns promoting the use of cloth bags and saying no to single-use plastic.
The activities were conducted at Prothrapur, Little Andaman, Car Nicobar, Mayabunder, Ferrargunj, Nancowry and Campbell Bay, with active participation from students, Safai Mitras and local communities.
The campaign continued to emphasise source segregation, reduction of single-use plastic, cleanliness and community participation, reinforcing the collective responsibility towards a cleaner and sustainable Islands.
