Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 25: The Department of Environment and Forests has applied for conducting Public Hearing under EIA Notification, 2006 for preparation of Draft Integrated Island Management Plan (IIMP) of Viper Island.
News Item in this regard was published in the Daily Telegrams on 28-07-2026 for inviting suggestion from public and other stakeholder within a period of 30 days of the publication and also soft copies of the draft IIMP, Coastal Land Use Map, and Geomorphology Map of Viper Island have been made available in the website of A&N Administration (https://andamannicobar.gov.in/) and the Department of Environment & Forest, A&N Administration (https://forest.and.nic.in/). Soft copies of draft IIMP have been made available in various offices, including the Chairman’s Office, ANCZMA (Chief Secretary, A&N Administration) ,Member Secretary’s Office, ANCZMA [APCCF (CRZ&FC)], Van Sadan, Haddo, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman), Divisional Forest Officer (South Andaman), Assistant Commissioner(HQ) (South Andaman), Member Secretary (Pollution Control Committee), Director (Art & Culture), Director (IP & T), Director (Tribal Welfare), Tehsildar (Sri Vijaya Puram), Range Officer (Tushnabad).
In this regard, Public Hearing for preparation of Draft Integrated Island Management Plan (IIMP) of Viper Island is scheduled to be held on 30-09-2026 at 11 AM at the Conference Hall, Office of Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District.
