Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 27: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, A&N Islands, Professor Dr. Dinesh Sharma on 26th Sept. 2026 visited the Blood Donation Camp organised by the Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO) in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, as part of the celebrations leading up to World Tourism Day 2026.
During his visit, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor interacted with the blood donors and appreciated AATO for organising the camp and for taking up initiatives that contribute to the welfare of society. He also acknowledged the significant contribution of AATO and its members towards the promotion and development of tourism in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor shared his vision for the further development of tourism in the Islands and assured that several initiatives would be undertaken under his leadership. He encouraged AATO to actively participate in these efforts and emphasised that tour operators play an important role in the tourism ecosystem and in promoting the Islands as a tourism destination.
AATO President Shri M. Vinod briefed the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor about the various initiatives undertaken by the Association for the growth of tourism and the welfare of the tourism fraternity. He thanked the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor for visiting the camp and encouraging the members of the tourism industry.
The visit served as an encouraging moment for AATO and the wider tourism fraternity, reaffirming the importance of collaboration between the Administration and tourism stakeholders for the sustainable growth of tourism in the Islands.
