Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 27: The BRAIT Techno Fest – “Srijan” 2026 organised on 25th and 26th September 2026 with enthusiastic participation from students of both Degree and Diploma programmes. A total of 292 students participated, comprising 184 students from the Diploma programme and 108 from the Degree programme. The festival featured a diverse array of 12 technical competitions organized by different departments, designed to test the innovation, problem-solving, and creative skills of the participants. The featured events included: Roots to Future: Engineering Innovation Challenge, AutoCAD Design Challenge, Waste to Model Making, Circuit Debugging Challenge, Logo Design on Soap, LAN Gaming, Scrap to Art, Coding Challenge, Tech Treasure Hunt, Interdisciplinary Poster Competition, Techno Quiz, Reel/Short Video Contest on the Heritage Sites of Andaman and Nicobar Islands
The events aimed to promote technical knowledge, innovation, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork and interdisciplinary interaction among students. A minimum participation of four teams was prescribed for each event to encourage wider participation across departments. The events commenced on the afternoon of 25 September and concluded on 26 September, followed by the felicitation of the winners and runners-up. The Civil Engineering Department, with participation from both Degree and Diploma programmes, emerged as the highest scorer of Techno Fest “Srijan” 2026.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Sanmukh Kaur emphasised the importance of technical activities in developing students’ communication skills, confidence, teamwork and technical competencies required for industry and campus placements. Appreciating the efforts of the faculty coordinators, Heads of Departments and students, she encouraged the Student Council, Class Representatives and student club committees to take greater initiative in organising such activities in the future. She also expressed the vision of expanding future editions through participation from other institutes and introducing more challenging technical activities. She congratulated all participants and winners and expressed the hope that such technical activities would continue to be organised regularly at the Institute.
