On the sacred occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2026, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, continues to inspire us through his timeless ideals of truth, non-violence, peace and selfless service. His philosophy of Ahimsa not only guided India’s freedom struggle but also remains a universal message of peace, harmony and human dignity.
On this day, let us reaffirm our commitment to Gandhiji’s ideals and strive to uphold them in our lives and actions.
May the Andaman and Nicobar Islands continue to progress on the path of peace, prosperity, harmony and sustainable development, guided by the enduring values of truth and non-violence.
Dr. Dinesh Sharma
Lieutenant Governor,
