
Car Nicobar, Oct. 5: A training programme on ‘Psychosocial Care in Disaster Management’ was conducted today in the Conference Hall of B.J.R. Hospital, Car Nicobar. The programme was organized with the objective of strengthening the knowledge, skills and preparedness of frontline personnel to respond effectively during disasters and provide appropriate psychosocial support to affected individuals, families and communities. The training was attended by Dr. Grace, Medical Superintendent, B.J.R. Hospital, Car Nicobar, Teachers, Anganwadi Workers, HE, LHV, PHN, CHOS and ANMS.
The programme commenced with an introductory session on Disasters and Disaster Preparedness, delivered by Dr. Mohammad Shafique, Medical Officer (Homoeopathy) while Dr. Jiji Paul, Medical Officer (RBSK-Homoeo) spoke on Psychosocial Care in Disaster Management. The session on Heat-Wave Preparedness and Disaster-Related Reporting under the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) was conducted by Dr. Sharda Lall, District Epidemiologist.
The training programme featured interactive discussions, practical activities and participatory learning, encouraging active involvement of all participants.
