
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 6: The Department of Art & Culture conducted the Heritage Walk – “World War-II” on Oct. 3, reaffirming its commitment to preserving the rich historical and cultural legacy of the islands while promoting heritage-based tourism. The walk was conducted by Dr. Pronob Kumar Sircar, Local Historian. The Heritage Walk commenced from the National Memorial Cellular Jail and the trial concluded at Gandhi Park (Shinto Shrine), traversing several important heritage landmarks.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, freelance tourist guides, members of the general public, office bearers and representatives from AATO & ANTOA. Their active involvement reflected a shared commitment to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
