Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 6: The Additional Director of Doordarshan Kendra, Ms. Sanam, along with senior officers, today paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Dr. Dinesh Sharma Ji. During the meeting, she apprised the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of the challenges and issues being faced in improving the quality of production at Doordarshan Kendra.
In this series, Dr. R. Devadas, Secretary, BJP State Office, and Shri V. K. Abdul Aziz, State President of Andaman-Nicobar Janata Party and Zilla Parishad Member, also paid courtesy calls on the Hon’ble Lt. Governor and discussed various issues concerning the region and presented their suggestions.
A delegation of the Andaman Association of Tour Operators also paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Lt. Governor. During the meeting, the delegation put forth its views for the development and promotion of the tourism industry. The key suggestions included rationalisation of airfares, Government support for active participation in tourism trade fairs, and extensive promotion and publicity to establish the Andaman Islands as a year-round tourist destination. Similarly, a delegation led by Shri S. Biju Pillai, General Secretary of the Andaman Nicobar Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh, also paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Lt. Governor and discussed issues concerning the organisation.
