Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 7: As part of the Government of India’s Digital Agriculture Mission and the AgriStack initiative the Department of Agriculture is organizing camps & Registration of farmers under the Farmer Registry for generation of Farmer ID.
The Farmer ID is a digital identification facility to enable eligible farmers to access and avail themselves of various agriculture-related schemes, benefits and services provided by the Government. The initiative is aimed at streamlining the delivery of agricultural services and ensuring that eligible farmers can access Government benefits in a more efficient and transparent manner.
The Department has clarified that the generation of a Farmer ID does not confer, establish or transfer any right, title or interest in land. The Farmer ID is not a land ownership document and shall not be treated as proof of ownership, possession, tenancy or any other legal right over land. Further, registration of a farmer in the Farmer Registry or linking of land records with the Farmer ID will not alter the existing land records or determine ownership of any land. Any dispute relating to ownership, possession, extent or other rights over land will continue to be governed by the records and procedures of the competent Revenue Authority under the applicable laws.
Farmers are therefore advised to clearly understand that the Farmer ID is intended solely for identification of farmers and facilitation of delivery of eligible agricultural schemes, benefits and services. It does not replace or modify existing land records or legal documents relating to land. All eligible farmers are encouraged to complete the Farmer ID generation process through the designated registration channels and provide accurate information and the required supporting documents.
