On the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja and Dussehra, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the islanders of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
This sacred festival symbolises the victory of good over evil and inspires us to follow the path of truth, righteousness and virtue. The triumph of Maa Durga over Mahishasura and that of Lord Shri Ram over Ravana convey the message of facing challenges with courage, faith and unwavering determination.
These festivals hold special significance in our beautiful islands, where the cultures and traditions of different communities flourish in an atmosphere of mutual harmony. The spirit of unity among the islanders strengthens our shared identity and reinforces the bonds of togetherness, mutual respect and brotherhood.
On this auspicious occasion, let us resolve to preserve our rich cultural diversity, promote compassion and strengthen the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”. With the blessings of Maa Durga, may every family be blessed with happiness, peace, good health and prosperity, and may our islands continue to progress on the path of unity, harmony and sustainable development.
