Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 27: ‘The Harmony of Jhumurr’ is launching a special series of musical presentation “2gether : Legends’ X-clusive!” with its maiden episode in the sequel, in remembrance honouring legendary composer S. D. Burman and iconic playback singer K_ishore K_umar (K2), on October 31, 2026, at the Community Hall, NABARD Colony, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The programme will commemorate not only their individual musical brilliance but also the remarkable personal and professional bond they shared. It will particularly highlight S. D. Burman’s influence on Kishore Kumar’s extraordinary rise as a playback singer and his faith in the singer’s distinctive vocal abilities, which helped shape an enduring creative partnership in Hindi cinema.
Titled aptly as ‘Badi Sooni Sooni Hai..!’, very last of the recorded collaborations of the inimitable musical duo, which actually took off high with the movie ‘Aradhana’, the presentation will celebrate the timeless compositions of S. D. Burman, including his memorable work with Kishore Kumar, alongside other evergreen melodies from the composer’s rich repertoire, featuring the voices of several legendary singers. The programme will reflect the extraordinary versatility of Burman’s music and its enduring appeal across generations.
The occasion holds special significance as both legends’ death anniversaries fall in October (#sharedDAmonth). The genius composer passed away on October 13, 1975, while Kishore Kumar breathed his last on October 13, 1987. Coinciding with S. D. Burman’s death anniversary, the programme will pay homage to their timeless contributions to Indian film music.
The concept and programme design are by Asheesh Poddar, Convenor and Creative Director of Jhumurr. The programme is being coordinated by Shailender Singh and Aktar Hussain, a communication from Sonali Podder, General Secretary of the society said.
