Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 29: The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, A&N Administration, in association with various line Departments of the A&N Administration, SVPMC, Zilla Parishad and other institutions, will commemorate ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day)–2026’ on Oct. 31 to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the Iron Man of India, and to promote the values of national unity, integrity and solidarity.
As part of the observance, an Open Cycle Rally will be organized on Oct. 31 at 6 AM from Netaji Stadium to Corbyn’s Cove and back, to promote unity, fitness and an active lifestyle among the public while a Run for Unity will be organised at 6 pm in the evening, with the participation of approximately 500 students from the Education Department and other educational institutions.
The Unity Run will commence from Netaji Stadium, proceed towards Corbyn’s Cove and return to Netaji Stadium. The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs has invited students, youth and the general public to participate enthusiastically in these activities and contribute towards strengthening the spirit of national unity and togetherness.
