Sri Vijaya Puram, July 23: As part of the ongoing efforts to extend the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) to eligible residents of the Islands, the Health Department, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, in coordination with the Social Welfare Department, organized a PMJAY Card Creation Camp on July 22 at Panchayat Hall, Wimberlygunj.

The camp witnessed an encouraging response, with a total of 75 Ayushman Cards successfully created for eligible beneficiaries. The initiative aims to ensure that every eligible individual is able to avail of the health coverage benefits offered under the scheme.

Beneficiaries belonging to PHH (Priority Household) and AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana) ration card categories, as well as Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), Anganwadi Helpers (AWHs), ASHA Workers and citizens of age 70 and above, are eligible to generate their PMJAY cards. They can do so by Downloading the Ayushman App BIS 2.0 from the Google Play Store or Visiting the official website: https://beneficiary.nha.gov.in/ or by approaching the nearest Health Centre for assistance.

Under AB-PMJAY, beneficiaries are entitled to cashless treatment worth ₹5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary hospitalization at empanelled hospitals across the country.

The Health Department continues to encourage all eligible individuals to get their Ayushman Cards created at the earliest and take full advantage of the health protection offered under this flagship scheme of the Government of India.
