
Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 31: As part of TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the District TB Centre, Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder organized a Nikshay Shivir at Sub-Centre, Rampur on Aug. 29, focusing on the vulnerable population of the remote area. The programme was conducted in the presence of the District TB Officer, N&M Andaman. During the event, Shri Madhava Rao, District Programme Coordinator (N&MA), delivered an awareness session on Tuberculosis, its symptoms, Nikshay Poshan Yojana, Nikshay Mitra, and highlighted the importance of early detection, timely treatment, and preventive measures.
This was followed by screening of the participants by Dr. Christina Rossity, DTO, along with the medical team.
A total of 25 individuals participated in the camp, out of which, 22 vulnerable persons were found asymptomatic. These 22 individuals were subsequently mobilized from Sub-Centre Rampur to Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder through the STS bus facility for further diagnostic evaluation, including X-ray and sputum examination.
