AH&VS Aims to Enhance Child Nutrition and Promote Sustainable Agricultural Practices in Car Nicobar

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 1: The Department of AH&VS, A&N Administration, in collaboration with the Forest Department, conducted an initiative in Arong village, Car Nicobar, to distribute table eggs to school children and plant fruit-bearing and fodder trees at the Composite Livestock Farm (CLF), Arong. The event aimed to enhance child nutrition and promote sustainable agricultural practices in the region.

Table eggs were distributed to school children in the presence of members of the Tribal Council, the Education Officer In-Charge, teachers, students, and the Captain of Arong village. The distribution focused on providing high-protein nutrition to support the health and well-being of young students in the community.

In a collaborative effort with the Forest Department, fruit-bearing and fodder trees were planted at the CLF, Arong, to support livestock feed production and environmental sustainability. The tree-planting activity, attended by school children, teachers, and community leaders, highlighted the importance of integrating agricultural and ecological practices to benefit rural communities.

This initiative reflects the AH&VS Department’s commitment to improving nutritional outcomes and fostering sustainable development in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The active participation of the Tribal Council, Education officials, and the Arong community underscores their dedication to supporting child welfare and environmental conservation.
