Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 31: On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, a grand Ekta Diwas Parade was organised at Ekta Nagar, Kevadia Gujarat, as part of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations. This year’s celebration marked a historic milestone with the introduction of a first-of-its-kind Tableau Parade on the theme of ‘Unity’, showcasing India’s rich cultural and regional diversity.
A total of 10 tableaux were selected for participation in the parade, representing NSG, NDRF, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Manipur, Puducherry, and Uttarakhand.
The Andaman & Nicobar Islands tableau stood out for its vivid portrayal of the Islands’ natural and cultural heritage. The display beautifully captured the rich flora and fauna, majestic lighthouses, vibrant tribal life, and enchanting marine biodiversity that define the archipelago. Adding a dynamic cultural element, Nicobari youth performed a traditional dance, depicting the unique cultural traditions and unity of the Nicobars.
