MESSAGE

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), serves as an important reminder of our collective responsibility to uphold the rights, dignity, and full participation of Persons with Disabilities. It is a day to celebrate their abilities, recognize their leadership, and reaffirm our commitment to building a society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

The theme for 2025, “Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress,” urges us to strengthen our efforts toward creating environments that are accessible, equitable, and empowering. Inclusive societies are not only a measure of social progress—they are a prerequisite for sustainable development and national advancement.

The observance of IDPD provides an opportunity to deepen public understanding of disability issues and to acknowledge the vast potential that persons with disabilities bring to every aspect of society. Ensuring inclusion is not an act of goodwill—it is a matter of justice and a cornerstone of a progressive nation.

On this important day, and every day, let us renew our resolve to work alongside persons with disabilities, extend support where needed, set shared and achievable goals, and celebrate their achievements. Together, let us advance toward a future that is inclusive, accessible, and sustainable for all, in alignment with the vision of the Prime Minister’s Viksit Bharat.
