Rangat, Jan 15: On the occasion of Police Raising Week, Police Station Rangat organized the SDPO Cup 2026 sporting events at Rangat, comprising the Open Volleyball Championship and Open Badminton Tournament, with the aim of strengthening police–public relations and promoting sportsmanship.
The Open Volleyball Championship, held from 12.01.2026 to 14.01.2026 at Raman Bagicha, Nimbutala, witnessed participation from 10 men’s teams and 03 women’s teams. After closely contested matches, Team Betapur emerged as champions in both the Men’s and Women’s categories. The final and prize distribution ceremony was graced by Shri Vikas Kumar, DANICS, Assistant Commissioner, Rangat, who appreciated the initiative for promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and police–public engagement.
The SDPO Cup Open Badminton Tournament, conducted from 13.01.2026 to 15.01.2026, saw enthusiastic participation across multiple categories, including men, women, and junior events. The final matches were held on 15.01.2026, in the presence of Shri Chandan G.S., SDPO Rangat, as Chief Guest, along with Mrs. R. Barkha, ACF Rangat, Guest of Honour, and Shri Ranjith, Assistant Director of Sports, Special Guest.
The events concluded successfully, reinforcing the commitment of the District Police towards community outreach, youth engagement, and holistic development through sports.
