Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 16: Dr. S. Radhakrishnan District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Garacharma, conducted a one-day Awareness Programme on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), ANKURAN, and Enhancement of School Enrolment at all Cluster Resource Centres (CRCs) of the South Andaman and Wimberlygunj Educational Zones during the period from 12.01.2026 to 16.01.2026.
The awareness programme aimed at sensitizing parents and community members to the importance of early-grade learning, foundational education, regular school attendance, and sustained school enrolment. Parents from different CRCs participated enthusiastically and responded positively to the awareness initiatives.
A key highlight of the programme was the cultural and awareness activities presented by the 1st and 2nd year D.El.Ed. trainees, which included role plays, dance performances, and group songs. These activities effectively conveyed the significance of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, quality education, and school enrolment in an engaging, meaningful, and easily comprehensible manner for parents and community members.
