
Wimberlygunj, Jan 18: The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO), Andaman & Nicobar Islands successfully organised its annual talent fest “KHWAB 2K26” during the second week of January, 2026, drawing enthusiastic participation from students across the islands. The initiative aims to nurture creativity, confidence and intellectual capability among youth by providing constructive platforms for expression and healthy competition. As part of this year’s conduct, a preliminary round was held on 4th January 2026 to shortlist and prepare participants for the final stages. The main fest took place on 11th January 2026 at the MIM Auditorium, Wimberlygunj, where the final rounds of all competitive segments were conducted along with the official inauguration ceremony.
The inauguration was graced by Mr. Pawan Gupta (IFS), Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF), South Andaman, who attended as Chief Guest, while Janab MK Mohammed, Chief Patron of SIO Andaman, participated as Guest of Honour. This year’s competitions included Spell Bee, Quiz Carnival, Voice Quest, Mind Marathon and Color Clash, organised across three age groups spanning 9 to 25 years, providing a platform for participants to showcase their creative talents, critical thinking, articulation and innovative ideas. The event received strong engagement from a wide range of institutions and communities, reflecting the growing demand for youth-oriented intellectual and cultural spaces.
The concluding Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 18th January 2026 at the same venue, presided over by Dr. Manoharan, Deputy Education Officer (DEO), Wimberlygunj as Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Manoharan expressed appreciation for the sustained efforts of SIO Andaman in conducting the KHWAB fest consistently for four consecutive seasons, congratulating the organisation for its commitment towards youth engagement, enrichment and development. He emphasised that such initiatives contribute significantly to constructive thinking, creativity and intellectual growth among students, and further encouraged SIO Andaman to expand similar programmes into more localities, including the Sri Vijaya Puram area, in the coming years.
This edition of KHWAB witnessed over 300+ registrations from various educational institutions across the islands as well as from the mainland. SIO Andaman extends its gratitude to all participants, parents, institutions, volunteers and well-wishers for their support, cooperation and enthusiasm throughout the event, reaffirming its commitment to continue fostering meaningful, creative and value-driven youth programmes in the years ahead.
