
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 29: The Chess After-School Programme conducted by Master Minds Club at Govt. Secondary School (GSS), Junglighat is running very successfully and has been receiving an overwhelming response from students since its inception.
At present, around 80 school children in three batches are actively participating in the programme after school hours. A significant majority of the children belong to the fishermen community, highlighting the programme’s role in promoting inclusive education and providing constructive after-school engagement for children from diverse backgrounds.
The young chess players are being trained by Shri J. Purusottam, Primary School Teacher and Chess Trainer, who is guiding the students with structured coaching and systematic practice sessions to develop their skills and interest in the game.
The chess classes are conducted in three batches starting from 2:30 PM onwards and the programme is offered free of cost.
