
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 30: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) observed the 78th Martyrs’ Day of Mahatma Gandhi Ji on 30th January, 2026 at the Congress Office, Port Blair, paying rich tributes to the Father of the Nation.
On the solemn occasion, ANTCC President Shri. Rangalal Halder along with State Secretary, PCC Chattisgarh Shri Vimal Sahu and Zilla Panchayat Sadasya, Baloda Bazar, Chhattisgarh Smt. Anjali Sahu garlanded the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi Ji, followed by floral tributes from Party Leaders to Gandhi Ji and also observed two minutes of silence in his memory. The leaders recalled Gandhiji’s supreme sacrifice, his unwavering commitment to truth and non-violence, and his timeless message of peace, unity, and social harmony.
Addressing the gathering, the speakers emphasized the relevance of Gandhian values in today’s times and called upon the people, especially the youth, to follow the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi Ji for building a just, inclusive, and democratic society.
The programme witnessed the participation of Senior ANTCC leaders, District Congress Committee, Block Congress Committee, ANTCC Chief Spokesperson, Mahila Congress Leaders, City Congress Leaders, Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan Leaders, Unorganised Workers & Employees Congress Leaders, OBC Department Leaders, Municipal Councilors and party workers, who reaffirmed their resolve to uphold Gandhiji’s ideals in public life.
