Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 9: A State-level AI IMPACT Pre-Summit was successfully conducted at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT) today, serving as a curtain-raiser to the forthcoming AI IMPACT Summit scheduled to be held in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, 2026. The programme witnessed the participation of faculty members, students, researchers, and start-up representatives from DBRAIT, TGCE, JNRM, and other emerging start-ups across the islands.
The chief guest, Dr. Aparup Das, Director & Scientist-G, ICMR, A&N Islands, delivered an insightful address on intelligence and human evolution, while also emphasizing the ethical dimensions and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence. Prof. (Dr.) Sanmukh Kaur, Principal, DBRAIT and Patron of Summit, highlighted the key focus areas of the day, including applications of AI in diverse fields, India–Japan collaboration for Smart Island development, and the growing importance of Large Language Models (LLMs) in AI.
Prior to the that Dr. Manu Vashishtha, Sr. Lecturer, DBRAIT and Coordinator of the program, welcomed the gathering. The first technical session was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Mansaf Alam, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. The second session featured Shri Nitish Singh, Data Manager, BharatGen, IIT Bombay, who joined virtually.
The afternoon session was conducted by Shri Kailash S, Scientist-E, CDAC Chennai, Prof. (Dr.) M. K. Dutta, Additional Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director, Amity Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Amity University.
