Vibrant Children’s Activities at the Second Edition of Andaman Nicobar Book Fair Draws Enthusiastic Participation

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 16: The second edition of Andaman Nicobar Book Fair- 2026 continued to draw enthusiastic participation on Day 3, with vibrant children’s activities at ITF Ground. Organized by National Book Trust, India with the support of the Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration, the fair witnessed another dynamic day filled with learning, creativity. Over 300 young minds from various schools across the city filled the venue with colour, creativity, and imagination

The day began with an engaging Creative Writing Workshop, where children, working in groups, picked slips from four different baskets and used the given words along with their imagination to weave original stories and illustrate them. The seven best groups were rewarded with children’s books published by National Book Trust, India.

This was followed by a delightful Origami Art Workshop by Shivani, where participants were introduced to the beautiful Japanese art of paper folding. Using colourful origami sheets, children joyfully created two different kinds of birds, discovering how creativity can take flight with just paper and folds.

In the third session, children expressed their thoughts by writing slogans on Digital Library and Digital Books with Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya (ReP), with the best entries winning exciting goodies from ReP.

Adding to the festive spirit, children enthusiastically doodled in the specially designed activity zone for them and explored the bookstalls with their teachers and parents, discovering new stories and authors along the way.
